Johnson City group raises money for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central New York
“The Cool Cousins Club,” a group of children in Johnson City, N.Y., recently held a bake sale and can drive to raise money for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central New York. “The Cool Cousins Club” members (pictured from L to R: Kim Szczepanski, Jenna Szczepanski, Anna Szczepanski, Monique Szczepanski and Melissa Haun) collected more than $100 for Ronald McDonald Charities of CNY.
The girls said they chose the CNY Ronald McDonald House as the beneficiary for their can drive and bake sale because many families with ill or injured children stay at the House and use the services provided by the charity. In addition, the family of one of Jenna’s classmates stayed at a Ronald McDonald House in New York City while the classmate was receiving cancer treatments.
About Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central New York: Ronald McDonald House Charities of CNY operates the 16-bedroom CNY Ronald McDonald House 24-hours a day, year-round as a “home away from home” for families whose children are hospitalized with serious illnesses or injuries. RMHC of CNY is planning to build a new, larger Ronald McDonald House that will allow the organization to help keep even more families with seriously ill children together.
