Local family donates soda pop tabs

to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central New York

Eight-year-old Eddie Linkroum and his parents, Ed and Jeannette, have been collecting soda pop tabs for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central New York for the last eight years. In 2001, when Eddie was born, his parents stayed at the Ronald McDonald House.

Every year since then the Linkroum family, with the help of the Deposit, N.Y., community, has donated pop tabs to the House as a way of showing their gratitude and support of an organization that helped them during their toughest times. The CNY Ronald McDonald House has helped thousands of families, like the Linkroums, ensure that their children were never alone when battling illness.

Eddie’s family recently donated approximately 30 pounds of pop tabs to Ronald McDonald House Charities of CNY. Pictured from left to right: Jeannette Linkroum, Ed Linkroum and (front row) Eddie Linkroum.

About Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central New York: Ronald McDonald House Charities of CNY operates the 16-bedroom CNY Ronald McDonald House 24-hours a day, year-round as a “home away from home” for families whose children are hospitalized with serious illnesses or injuries.
