The Lopez Family

Ana Lopez arrived at the Central New York Ronald McDonald House on Aug. 11 after delivering her son Aaron at Crouse Hospital two days prior.

Diagnosed early on in the pregnancy, Ana and her husband Ruben knew that Aaron would be born with medical complications including a congenital diaphragmatic hernia that would require critical medical attention for many weeks after he was born.

Aaron has three sisters, Alexis, 7; Abigail, 4; and Angelina, 2. The Lopez family, from Hancock, N.Y., stayed at the House for 56 nights while Aaron was in the hospital. The girls “cooked” in the playroom and enjoyed the many snacks provided by the generous donors of our caring community.

The Lopezes are so thankful for the CNY Ronald McDonald House. It allowed them to stay connected as a family during a difficult time. “The House has been a godsend for us and our children,” said Ana Lopez.

Thankfully, the Lopez family has returned home to Hancock, N.Y. and are enjoying their time at home together as a healthy family. Ana and her children recently stopped by the House for a visit and brought a large donation of wish list items.
