Our Guests

Guest families are welcomed to a private bedroom (one per family) following a certified referral from a hospital social worker or doctor’s staff. They meet the following criteria:

  • Caregivers of a hospitalized child 18 years of age or younger
  • Have reached the age of 17 themselves or be accompanied by a parent, legal guardian, or adult family member.
  • Register a permanent residence in another community 25 miles or more away from the CNY Ronald McDonald House
  • Be directly involved in the day-to-day care of the hospitalized child
  • Have legal custody of the child, either by biological, foster or adoptive parenting

Our House

Guests at the CNY Ronald McDonald House have their own bedrooms and shared baths. We have 16 bedrooms, with phones, voice mail and cable TV. Our kitchen is fully stocked with homemade meals and desserts and guests may prepare their own meals at anytime. Our children’s playroom has toys and we also have a video collection. Laundry facilities with supplies are available. Parking is free at the House and a shuttle van accommodates Crouse Hospital families. Public transportation is available to St. Joseph’s and University Hospitals.

Pre-arrangements

Arrangements must be made in advance through the social work department at one of the medical facilities served by the House or by a local physician's office that is on the approved referral list.  Your medical representative should call our office at (315) 476-1027 between 9am and 8pm as far in advance of your stay as possible.  Check-in time is daily 9am to 8pm, for first-time check-ins and as late as 8:30pm for return check-ins, already familiar with the House.  The referral is not a reservation.  Because we must manage our occupancy around the uncertainty of illness and medical treatment, we may experience sudden, unpredictable room shortages.  For that reason, you are required to call our office at (315) 476-1027 - 24 hours in advance of your planned arrival time to check that space is still available.  At that time your room will be confirmed.

There is a nominal fee of $15 nightly per family, which includes all services.
